The Story Behind TEAMLYLA

The name LYLA comes from Spiderman 2099 comics, LYLA stands for Lyrate Lifeform Approximation and is Miguel O’Harras virtual assistant. She aids him on every mission he goes on and is vital to making sure he saves the day. When David got his first motorcycle back in 2017, he decided to name the R3 LYLA, as it would do everything LYLA does for Miguel. The original hoodie was a small project that David designed for only himself to wear that would be an homage to his motorcycle, he thought the name “Team Lyla” sounded catchy and had a nice ring to it.
In July of 2021 David found out he was expecting a beautiful baby girl. After only a brief conversation, it was decided that the baby’s name would be Lyla. In March of 2022, Lyla was welcomed to this world, and at only 23 years of age David knew that his life would change entirely. And so it did, when things went awry David found himself fighting for something more than just himself. When the inevitable hardships of life weighed heavy, Team Lyla was a reminder to David of who’s team he was on and who he had to fight for. Team Lyla took on a new meaning, something much more personal to David and he was proud to represent the relationship of a father to his daughter.
David found that chasing justice in todays world was no walk in the park and can be mentally taxing, yet he understood the link between the mind and the body. With his mind constantly at war he knew that his body needed to remain ready for one. He aimed to inspire people to get up and workout, do what needs to be done, show up on time, don’t be lazy, and always be prepared to work. Then translate that to all aspects of life, and put yourself on an upward spiral to success and fulfillment. Leading by example, David was weightlifting, kickboxing, cycling, and working all in a day; but when he laid his head on his pillow at night he slept easy knowing his duties where completed. Team Lyla ultimately represents growth within yourself in whatever form that takes, it’s never going to be the right time and the situation will never be perfect, but you are fortunate to have the opportunity to fight.
